Two years ago there were fourteen Americans on the list of the world's twenty richest people. Now there are four. Thanks to Warren Buffett and his $62 billion, an American remains on op of the list and Buffett can thank his company, Berkshire Hathaway. Being able to float loans enables Buffett to buy a wide range of companies. In fact, if you've ever worn UGG's, you can say you've walked a mile in Warren Buffett's shoes.

It's not easy to be left-handed in a right-handed world. Things like shaking hands or being helped to put on a coat can be awkward. To make their lives easier lefthanders deserve innovations like notepads that tear from the right, doors that open from the right and toilets that flush on the right. They deserve August 13th to be celebrated as Lefthanders Day. We need to give lefties a hug - remembering, of course, that hugs can be awkward too. We need to remember that for left-handed people things will never be all right.

Before video games we kids played with marbles. There were 'funsies' where the participants would simply play for the fun of it. Then there were 'keepsies' or a type of wager where the loser lost his marbles thus introducing many an innocent child to the risks of gambling in a brutally cruel world. There were many variations in between and we played most of them with great vigor, learning a lot about ourselves and each other in the process.

Is age 19 too old to learn how to box? Deontay Wilder didn't think so. Deontay describes himself as having been a quiet kid who got into fights with bullies - fights that sent him to a school for at-risk kids when he was in 7th grade. Fortunately, that turned Deontay's life around and he later went to college on a basketball scholarship. However, when Deontay's daughter was born with a spinal defect, he had to drop out of college and get a job to pay her medical expenses. That's when he started to fight again - but this time in a ring. When Deontay was 22 he won the bronze medal for heavyweight boxing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He didn't think he was too old to learn and the boys who work out at the same gym aren't too old to learn from his example.

Cooking is a daily have-to. When I got married, I saw cooking as my duty. When I had young children, I saw it as my responsibility. Now I'm wearing glasses and I see things differently. Now I see cook as a four-letter word. When bespectacled me was looking for help online, I found "Dream Dinners". Dream Dinners is a food preparation franchise. They provide a fully equipped kitchen, recipes, all the ingredients - pre-measured and pre-cut - as well as take-home containers and clean up. I haven't gone to Dream Dinners yet because I want my family to go with me. If my family wants to get fed, they have to be prepared to get fed up with cooking.

If I ever run for political office, I'll pass a law that requires spring cleaning to be postponed until winter. Why waste days of blooming flowers, invigorating air and sweater-wearing temperatures inside the house - especially inside a dirty house. After being elected by a landslide, I'll spend my spring cleaning up politics.
