Unlike a lot of well-known and successful musicians, Jack Johnson did not grow up with dreams of making it big as a singer or songwriter. He was not obsessed with practicing his instrument or working on his vocals, but more with riding the famous waves of Oahu's north shore. Johnson, a Hawaii native, grew up riding some of the best surf that can be found on the planet and looked poised to embark on a professional surfing career. Though Johnson claims that it was always his plan to attend college on the mainland, a serious surfing accident may have helped confirm that as the right move.

Seems like not that long ago I was lugging my acoustic guitar from my friend's house eager to learn how to play with my new toy and stopping off at the local music store to pick up a guitar book. Now ten years later the thought of going to a music shop to buy a guitar book seems almost unheard of since the widespread of the internet changing the way we research information. My last guitar video, which was admittedly on VHS, now seems so outdated and obsolete compared to the online guitar videos available (some for free).

There are a number of ways that children can enjoy learning musical instruments. When parents are choosing classes for musical instruments, the type of instrument will determine the best class environment. Classes for musical instruments should be small because the teacher can provide hands-on training to many children if they are in the same room. Small musical classes are more intimate and cost effective. The close learning environment makes a child learning music feel more secure.

African drums are now well-liked by many people of different races since it has unique style and sounds that will make you dance with each beat. Africans of nowadays still love their African drums since it plays an imperative role in their society. It is still used as a medium of communication of comprehension and principles. Africans are rich in values and traditions and they happen to love music so they use music for commemorating important communal, ceremonies and personal events.

Ward is from Birmingham, England and was born May 5, 1948. He started drumming at shows when he was 15 years old. He made Tony Iommi's acquaintance in 1964. They were in a band called Mythology prior to meeting Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osbourne and joining Polka Tulk, which became Earth and in turn Black Sabbath.

Everybody grows up dreaming about being a rock star, about being able to shred on an electric guitar and impress the masses. Even one of the most popular video games of today, Guitar Hero, is based around people's primal urge to play the guitar. The electric guitar has been the single most defining element of music for the 20th century and it's evolvement from the big band orchestra to the bands we know today.

Rhythm guitar playing is when the instrument is used in order to provide rhythm and accord to accompany a singer or other members of a group of musicians. Quite often you'll see a guitarist play rhythm to a lead guitar in a band. On these occasions it refers more to the kind of playing and not to the guitar being used, as these two guitars are very similar overall.

Although Flight of the Conchords may not be part of the summer HBO lineup, fans of the quirky New Zealand-bred twosome still have something to look forward to, because Sub Pop will release I Told You I Was Freaky October 20. The album is Flight of the Conchords' sophomore LP and it will include three season-two tracks, such as "Too Many Dicks (On the Dance Floor)," which haven't been available yet, as well as songs which the duo put up on iTunes each week during the second season of their HBO show.

A perception exists that performing and practicing music are two different activities. It is true that learning the basics of music is an exercise which is highly important and without this, true performing can not be undertaken to the highest ability. However, the relationship between performing and practicing is deeply intertwined and at a certain level the distinction between the two virtually disappears.
