On April 14th Beck's 1994 album One Foot in the Grave will be reissued, as confirmed to Rolling Stone's Rock Daily by the rocker's publicists. The slacker-folk album will reportedly be augmented with 16 additional songs in addition to the original track listing and will arrive via Interscope Records, although the original One Foot in the Grave was distributed by K Records and recorded before (albeit distributed after) Beck's major-label debut and breakthrough album Mellow Gold. Eagles' band member Don Henley has beef with republican senate candidate Charles DeVore after DeVore allegedly used two of his solo songs in campaign videos without the singer's permission. Apparently the two songs in question are: "The Boys of Summer" and "All She Wants to Do Is Dance." The lyrics in latter song were apparently altered to attack rival democrat Barbara Boxer, according to a report issued by BBC News. Dancing must be bad. Henley is suing the republican for use of his material without permission, but Devore is fighting back, issuing a counter claim based on First Amendment rights, accusing Henley of "liberal goon tactics." Not sure what "liberal goon tactics" are? Apparently requesting that someone ask before using your copyrighted material for ad campaign purposes is considered liberal goon tactics. Of course many people just think of it as "the law" or whatever. Follow the scoop with Don Henley and see when he and the Eagles with tour next by going online and get your own pair of Eagles tickets.

Don't let Willie Nelson's age fool you, even after 50 years on the road he manages to keep his audience-and his band-guessing. Nelson's backing band is comprised of Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Joe Sample (piano), Christian McBride (bass) and Lewis Nash (drums), all of whom played on his latest album, American Classic. Nelson's longtime harmonica player Mickey Raphael recently told ToledoBlade online, "There is no set list. He'll start off with 'Whiskey River,' then we have no idea where he is going after that. We don't know from one night to the next what to expect. That's what keeps it interesting and fresh. He is playing more guitar than ever before. If you're at all a fan of guitar playing, it's worth it if he never sang a note." But he does sing quite a few notes on his current tour, which sees fans clamoring for Willie Nelson tickets to see him live.

Unlike a lot of well-known and successful musicians, Jack Johnson did not grow up with dreams of making it big as a singer or songwriter. He was not obsessed with practicing his instrument or working on his vocals, but more with riding the famous waves of Oahu's north shore. Johnson, a Hawaii native, grew up riding some of the best surf that can be found on the planet and looked poised to embark on a professional surfing career. Though Johnson claims that it was always his plan to attend college on the mainland, a serious surfing accident may have helped confirm that as the right move.

Seems like not that long ago I was lugging my acoustic guitar from my friend's house eager to learn how to play with my new toy and stopping off at the local music store to pick up a guitar book. Now ten years later the thought of going to a music shop to buy a guitar book seems almost unheard of since the widespread of the internet changing the way we research information. My last guitar video, which was admittedly on VHS, now seems so outdated and obsolete compared to the online guitar videos available (some for free).
